I was initially hesitant about working with a doctor specifically for weight loss. I don’t like being told what to do or what I "should" be eating. However, I had been trying to lose weight on my own for several years with minimal success. When Dr. Mittal’s info was given to me by another doctor, I decided "what do I have to lose." I did the initial virtual consult with her and really liked what she had to say. She’s super friendly and her assistant is also incredibly friendly. I’ve been working with her now for a little over two months. It still amazes me when I step on the scale and see numbers I haven’t seen in years! Sometimes I have to weigh myself twice because I don’t believe it. My goal is to lose at least 30 lbs and I’m already down 15 lbs and have cut my blood pressure medication in half! Dr. Mittal’s approach is different. She doesn’t shame you for eating the foods we know we shouldn’t be eating. She suggests alternatives and ways to still incorporate the not so good stuff with healthier choices. She has really taught me to be more mindful about what I eat. I meet with her monthly and we set goals. In between visits, she keeps in contact weekly through a private app. She’s never told me what I "should" or "shouldn’t" be eating and when she reviews my food diary in MyFitnessPal, we talk about the choices I made and how I could make an improvement. Her approach is realistic, not restrictive, sustainable, and I’m eating foods I buy at the grocery store, not prepackaged stuff I have to order. She’s also helped me figure out ways to eat healthier while still feeding my family what they like and not having to cook two different meals. I’m really glad I made the decision to work with her. The weight has consistently been "falling" off and it’s very motivating. I’m looking forward to continue working with her and actually reaching my goal weight! Maybe I’ll be able to stop both my blood pressure medication AND my cholesterol medication!

I have been looking fir someone like Dr. Richa Mittal for YEARS. Years. I have tried doctor offices that manage weight (and accept insurance) though all they do is hand out phentermine. I have tried "female" hormone doctors and been told my labs look great but they gave me meds and told me to come back anyway. I have tried my PCP and they mumbled some words about calories or trying keto or gave me the title of a book. I have tried nearly diet that there is. And I was FAITHFUL. But there would always be issues. I just wanted someone that I could hash out all of the issues with. Everything that I have tried and everything that had *kind of* worked and NOT worked and WHY. In other words, I wanted someone medical to LISTEN. And not rush me out the door. And to process the why and the how and break down the what next and the how come. I found her. Dr. Mittal is that person. If I move I would fly back just for my appointments. Because it is worth every penny to not feel like that again. Because she helped me lose the weight AND KEEP IT OFF. Not with fads. With the perfect concoction of what was right for my body...a right medication and a right eating style with some splurging and some fasting. A few referrals to other specialists and a close eye and follow ups on things I should be doing by her and her medical assistant (Yadira, which is phenomenal) to keep me accountable and things move in the right direction and stay in the right direction. If I could take my money back from all of the other diet "stuff" that I have done and pay Dr Mittal double, I would. It is that worth it.

Dr. Mittal has been life-changing for me. I've been working with her for about a year and am so grateful for her knowledge and expertise in health and fitness. My dietary battle has been up and down for ages but Dr. Mittal made a plan for me that was simple, achievable, and cost-efficient. She's not a doctor that just throws medications as a fix. Her goal is to slowly introduce life changes so they become a lifestyle. Even through my battles, she's always made a way for me to see light at the end of the tunnel. I am more confident, body conscious, and knowledgeable about health and wellness. I will continue to work with her and recommend her services to anyone! She's just that good! On top of that, her weekly recipes are amazing!!!!!!!

Dr. Mittal has been an amazing help on my weight loss journey. I’ve lost 50 pounds in six months, and the weight is still coming off. She’s been great helping me get to the root of medical issues that have been affecting my inability to lose weight in the past. Her advice for eating and exercising has been a huge help as well. I started seeing Dr. Mittal in February 2021, as I needed help and guidance to lose weight and develop a healthier lifestyle. From the first appointment, I knew she could help me with my goals, as her approach is not a regimented and dogmatic drive for counting calories or measuring meals, but more toward making mindful choices, in order to maintain a healthier lifestyle, which promotes healthy weight loss and long-term weight management.

She suggests recipes that are easy to prepare and are both healthy and tasty. Her recommendations for healthier snack options help to keep the snack tooth satisfied without compromising the journey. She is careful to redirect less than positive behaviors (scale obsession & indulgence deprivation), and encourages mindful indulgence satisfaction (smaller portions, 1 option instead of many).

She maintains contact between appointments to encourage and celebrate goal accomplishments, which fosters better choice making. As of this writing, 6 months visiting Dr. Mittal, I have lost close to 50 pounds, have gone from 2X shirts to large and am down 4 inches in pant size. This makes clothes shopping much easier and more enjoyable. I’ve also started riding my bike again, as it is much more comfortable and fun without the extra weight! Anyone wanting to take control of their weight management and begin a healthier way of life could definitely benefit from Dr. Mittal’s approach.

I have been struggling to lose weight for years! After many health issues piling up, I decided enough was enough and went to Dr. Mittal for help. Within a few months into seeing her, I was able to lose weight so effortlessly. I was already sort of intermittent fasting (skipping breakfast, because who has the time) and she helped me do it properly. She also helped me make healthier choices and form these habits. I have lost over 30lbs in 6 months!

Dr. Mittal is a very fine physician. She is tremendously resourceful, caring, and compassionate. My weight loss journey has been challenging to say the least, but she remains a beacon of hope even at my most difficult times. I recommend her highly!


I've been seeing Dr. Mittal for a little over 6 months now, and I couldn't be happier with her care and treatment. Not only has she helped me lose 40 pounds so far (about half of my goal), she's also helped me start new healthy habits (exercising) and bottom line, she's all about being reasonable and not depriving yourself (I eat dark chocolate on a daily basis!). She'll give you the tools and resources you need to be successful and at the same time, she'll encourage you to set and fulfill SMART goals so you're constantly seeing results. I met with Dr Mittal for the first time in July 2020 but I knew of her practice through my daughter who is also a healthcare professional and had been under Dr Mittal's program.

My first meeting with Dr M lasted for more than one hour. During the entire meeting she listened to all of my history, went through all of the daily data log book including my daily intake foods, micronutrients, carbs, proteins, sodium, potassium, calories intake, blood sugar levels, exercise routines, history of my blood reports, etc. She was extremely thorough, patient and caring.

At the end of my visit, she worked with me to develop a diet plan that totally suits my life style, additional exercises to strengthen specific areas of my body and suggested certain changes in my maintenance drugs- still a work in progress.

In the one week immediately following my visit with Dr Mittal I can already see the impact of her of her advise. My blood sugar levels have dropped almost ten points and my weight is steadily declining.

I wish to thank Dr Mittal for her expert advise and level of professional care. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Dr. Richa Mittal is the best. She's very patient, supportive and always ready to answer my questions. I started her program with a strong desire to improve my health and wellness and just a few months later, I have made so much progress and actually feel in control of my health now instead of feeling helpless and confused. I've learned about food and how my body reacts to it. I've learned the important role fitness plays in my overall health and well being and I've made changes and developed habits that I know I can keep. I highly recommend her.

I would highly recommend Dr. Mittal! I've tried many times to lose weight, only to struggle and ultimately fail. Dr. Mittal opened up a new door for me, with lots of options from food plans to different types of medication that truly helped me. I've never lost this much weight when trying other plans or doctors. I feel great! Dr. Mittal provided an eating plan - not a diet, but more of a new way to think about food and to try alternatives. She is a wonderful person who truly cares about her patients. She takes the time to really get to know you. She is thorough, always kind and her staff is equally as kind and helpful. She truly wants you to succeed with your weight loss and health goals.

As a mom and physician looking to overall get healthier and lose some weight, I reached out to Dr. Mittal. She was awesome. Not only did she run detailed bloodwork and go over how to customize my diet, she gave me great ideas on how to meal plan, recipes, specific items at specific stores that were healthy and quite tasty. What I found overall the most helpful was that she not only told me what I needed to do but she also gave me an action plan on how to accomplish it. I’ve already begun to see results a few weeks into it. Highly recommend her!
